Congress High-command kept Revanth Reddy Away In selection of MLC candidates!

The selection of three candidates for MLC elections from MLAs quota has once again exposed that the Congress high-command has lost confidence in Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and practically kept him away in key decisions. None of the three candidates are said to be proposed by the Chief Minister.

Moreover, selection of former MP Vijayasanthi directly by the high-command, who did not meet the Chief Minister atleast once during the last 15 months is said to be a clear signal given by the party leadership that hereafter they will deal directly from New Delhi.

Revanth Reddy’s all-out efforts to get a seat to his confidant and government advisor Narendra Reddy was not taken seriously by the party top leadership.  Even though Revanth discussed with Congress state affairs in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan for almost an hour and tried to convince her, and even went to Delhi to persuade her, the high command ignored him.

Revanth Reddy, who recently went to the house of a senior Congress leader, said to be complaining that the high command was not allowing him to do anything, that all decisions were being taken by the high command and that even the postings of senior IAS officers were being decided there.

With this, there is a discussion in Gandhi Bhavan circles that the party high command has given a strong signal to Revanth that the game will not be a game anymore.

It is known that as per the recommendation of Minister Ponguleti, an attempt was made to give a seat to Vijayabhai from Khammam district under the ST quota. Revanth Reddy insisted and pressured the TPCC and sent the names of Vem Narender Reddy and Vijayabhai along with Addanki Dayakar to the high command, but it is known that two of them were left aside and Addanki was given a chance.

There is a campaign that the high command selected Vijayashanti’s name as per the promise given earlier. There is a discussion that senior party leader Jana Reddy turned the wheel at the high command for Shankar Nayak. It is known that the original Congress leaders have repeatedly complained to the high command that Revanth is giving importance to the immigrants without paying attention to the seniors.

It is in this context that it is clear that the high command has removed Deepadas Munshi, as the state Congress affairs in-charge, who was considered to be the closest confidant of Revanth, from the Telangana responsibilities.

In her place, Rahul Gandhi’s own team member Meenakshi Natarajan has been appointed as the state in-charge. With Meenakshi’s arrival, there were arguments that Revanth Reddy’s monopoly in the Telangana Congress had come to an end.
