BJP and Congress are bitter political enemies all over the country. Right from Prime Minister Narendra Modi every BJP leader day in and out concentrating only to marginalize Congress political influence among voters. But surprisingly, in Greater Hyderabad city these two parties have allegedly reached a `secret deal’.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy himself accused every day that BRS and BJP are same and together plotting to crush Congress party in the present Lok Sabha polls. He also named a few Lok Sabha constituencies like Malkajgiri, Mahabubnagar and Bhongir where BRS remained `low profile’ to pave way for the winning of BJP candidates.
However, political sources indicate that BJP promised to help Congress to win Cantonment assembly by-poll and in return Congress assured to help for the success of BJP’s heavy weight Etela Rajender from Malkajgiri Lok Sabha seat. These sources say that both Congress and BJP fear any electoral success will help BRS to regain its political dominance in Telangana.
Incidentally, Cantonment is the seat of BRS and here Congress remained in third place in the recent assembly polls. Moreover, presently Congress candidate Sri Ganesh, who stood second place in the recent elections as BJP candidate.
Sources say that as per understanding reached between Revanth Reddy and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Sri Ganesh was sent to Congress and made as its candidate. On the other hand, BJP is fielding an unknown person, who does not hail from this constituency. He is Vamsa Tilak. He was only seen during nomination filing by BJP cadre. He was taken from RSS by BJP.
In fact, local BJP leaders expected that they could win in the by-poll by fielding Sri Ganesh again. But for the BJP leadership winning Lok Sabha seats is more important than an assembly seat. They are also scared towards BRS attempt to regain their hold over Telangana politics, which would finish BJP.
