Concern over planes Movement Above Tirumala Srivari Temple

Devotees are expressing anger after a plane flew over Tirumala Srivari Temple once again on Thursday.  According to Agama Shastra, it is prohibited to fly over the Srivari Temple Gopuram and the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has been raising its objections several times on it.

TTD has been requesting the Central government that the Tirumala Srivari Temple area be declared as a no-fly zone. However, the Central Aviation Department is not paying attention to this and ignoring TTD requests. Venkanna devotees have been expressing anger over the frequent flights flying over the Srivari Temple Gopuram.

For the past few days, flights have been flying over the Srivari Temple regularly and it was repeated again on Thursday. According to the Agama rules of Tirumala Srivari Temple, it is prohibited to travel over the temple. Agama scholars have already cautioned TTD many times that such flights will cause some trouble.

In this context, TTD officials have repeatedly appealed to the Central Aviation Department through the TTD Governing Council to impose a ban on the movement of aircraft over the Srivari Temple and to declare it a no-fly zone.

It seems that the Center has expressed its helplessness and clearly stated that it is not possible to declare it as a no-fly zone in the wake of the increased traffic at the Renigunta Airport. However, the Center assured the TTD authorities that it will ensure that aircraft movement does not occur near the temple.

Though the decision was implemented for some time, now they are unable to stick for it.  For some time now, aircraft movement has been continuing frequently near the Srivari Temple and also over the Tirumala Temple.

Despite TTD’s complaints many times, the aviation authorities have not paid attention, resulting in a situation where TTD officials have raised their hands. Devotees who are watching the movement of aircraft over the temple are expressing extreme anger.  Devotees of Srivari are objecting to such movement of aircraft, although the temple rules say that aircraft movement should not occur.
