Comedian Prithvi has apologized for his comments made during the pre-release event of the film Laila. Addressing the issue in a video message, Prithvi expressed regret, offering his sincere apologies if his remarks caused any offense. He emphasized that he harbors no ill will toward anyone.
Clarifying his intentions, Prithvi stated that the apology was aimed at ensuring the film’s success and preventing any damage to its prospects. He urged the public to promote the film with the slogan “Welcome Laila,” as opposed to the “Boycott Laila” narrative. The comedian also expressed his wish for the film to surpass the success of Falaknuma Das.
Directed by Ram Narayan and starring Vishwak Sen, Laila is produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner. The film is scheduled for release on February 14.
Prithvi’s remarks, which included a joke about the number of goats in the film, sparked political controversy. Some YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders accused him of making remarks targeting the party. Following this, the YSRCP called for a boycott of the film on social media. In response to the growing tension, Prithvi issued his public apology.
