CM Revanth Reddy Visits Sigachi Chemical Factory Blast Site, Announces ₹1 Crore Ex-Gratia For Victims’ Families

Following the unfortunate industrial accident at the Sigachi Chemical Factory in Pashamylaram, Patancheru Mandal of the Sangareddy district, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited the site of the accident to assess the situation. The CM was joined by top ministers and officials and visited the site to see the situation firsthand and offered condolences to the bereaved families.

Speaking to the media and the victim families, CM Revanth Reddy declared an ex-gratia payment of ₹1 crore to each of the workers’ families who died in the accident. He directed government officials to get in touch with the factory management to facilitate immediate release of the compensation. The Chief Minister also undertook that all the injured workers would get free treatment.

Emphasizing the state government’s resolve, Revanth Reddy assured that the education of the children of deceased and injured workers would be entirely sponsored by the government. He further said Telangana would take stringent preventive measures to prevent industrial accidents of a similar nature from happening again in the future, including issuing detailed guidelines on safety to factories and chemical units running in the entire state.

For those critically injured, the CM further announced a compensation of ₹10 lakh. Long-term safety reforms further included him announcing plans to form an exclusive industrial safety committee to conduct inspections and monitor safety procedures in risk units.

Revanth Reddy minced no words while assuring accountability, vowing to take stringent legal action against everyone involved in the accident. He appealed to all industrial units to give paramount importance to worker safety, follow safety protocols, and keep performing periodic audits so that such accidents do not occur.
