Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that Godavari water will not be brought to Hyderabad from Mallannasagar, but from the Sri Pada Yellampalli project. He recalled that Yellampally was built by the Congress government. The Chief Minister fired back that Harish Rao has not yet grown up like a palm tree. He launched the Musi revival work on Monday.
To this end, he laid the foundation stone for Phase-2,3 of the Godavari Drinking Water Scheme Project to be undertaken at a cost of Rs. 7,360 crore in Gandipet. Speaking on the occasion, CM Revanth Reddy said that this project was undertaken to quench the thirst of the city. He said that the thirst of the people of Hyderabad will be quenched with the initiative of the Congress governments.
He said that Musi will be cleaned no matter who comes in the way. CM Revanth Reddy said that he will soon meet the Maharashtra CM to discuss the construction of the project near Tummidi Hatti. He said that the project will be built at a height of 150 meters near Tummidi Hatti and will provide water to Rangareddy, Vikarabad and Chevella.
The Chief Minister advised the opposition to come together and not to keep poison in their stomachs. If they are angry with the Congress, they should fight with him, but not to hinder development. CM Revanth Reddy questioned why KCR did not try to provide drinking water to Hyderabad when he was in power for ten years.
He said that all the areas around Musi have been polluted and no matter who obstructs them, they will move ahead with this project. He said that 20 TMC of Godavari water will be diverted to Osmansagar at a cost of Rs. 360 crore. CM Revanth Reddy said that Hyderabad is a city with a great reputation.
CM Revanth Reddy said that Godavari water is being merged in Musi. He asserted that the then Congress government brought Krishna and Manjeera waters to the city. He said that water was transferred to the city in three phases from Manjeera in 1965 and Krishna in 2002 to quench the thirst of the people.
