Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made an announcement today, stating that the Women’s University in Koti, Hyderabad, will be renamed after Chakali Ilamma. This was revealed during the 39th death anniversary of Chakali Ilamma at Ravindra Bharathi.
In his speech, Revanth Reddy mentioned Chakali Ilamma’s significant legacy and how her fight against land issues inspired him. He also shared that Ilamma’s granddaughter, Shweta, will join the State Women’s Commission. The event saw the Chief Minister honoring Ilamma’s family, with Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti and ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Ponnam Prabhakar, and Sridhar Babu present.
