CM Revanth Reddy Launches Indira Sauragiri Jal Vikas Scheme

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched Indira Saugargiri Jal Vikas scheme on Monday, to convert fallow lands into agricultural land,  in Macharam village of Amrabad mandal of Nagarkurnool district. Later, he visited a photo exhibition organized by the Tribal Welfare Department.

Speaking on this occasion, CM Revanth Reddy said that solar pump sets will be provided free of cost to farmers and assured that 5 and 7.5 HP pump sets will be provided to farmers. He said that current pump sets should be removed and solar pump sets should be installed.  He announced that every farmer should have an income of Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per month from solar.

He said that solar pump sets would be installed in Achampet constituency within 100 days and directed the officials to take steps to install solar pump sets to this extent. He said that solar panels will be installed on the lands given to the tribals. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to make the Achampet constituency a model for the country and decided to appoint an IAS officer as a special officer for the pilot project.

Revanth Reddy revealed that the Congress slogan is to give land to everyone and fill self-respect, that Indiramma will be in the heart of every tribal, and that Congress will be remembered whenever he sees his passbook.

“We will give solar pump sets to farmers for free. We will make Achampet a model constituency. We should remove the current pump sets and install solar pump sets. The authorities should take steps to install solar pump sets. Tribal farmers should earn income from solar power generation,” Revanth Reddy said.

Under the Indira Sauragiri Jal Vikas Yojana, eligible tribal farmers will be selected and provided with solar pump sets with 100% subsidy and water facilities will be provided to them. Under the Forest Rights Act 2006, 2,30,735 lakh ST farmers have been granted Podu Pattas on 6.69 lakh acres.

Out of this, till now, irrigation facilities have been provided to 69,039 acres of land belonging to 23,886 ST farmers at a cost of Rs. 141.57 crore under various schemes. There is no electricity facility for 6 lakh acres of land owned by the remaining 2.10 lakh farmers. The government has decided to provide water facilities by installing solar pump sets with full subsidy for these.
