The Telangana government has taken a key step by focusing on issues like land grabbing, encroachment of government lands, and deepening of the bottom of tanks. In this context, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated Hydra’s first police station at Buddha Bhavan on Thursday. He also inaugurated the machinery and vehicles provided to Hydra.
This police station was built specifically to support Hydra. Hydra Commissioner Ranganath said that Hydra has emerged as a special organization and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has given many powers to Hydra. He reminded that the work of Hydra will be easier due to the concentration of many powers in one place and that Hydra solved the problem related to Bulkapur Nala in one day with special powers.
He expressed happiness that the problem of the Nala between two tanks in Dundigal has been solved and the people of that place have been provided relief. ACP Tirumal has taken charge as SHO of Hydra Police Station. Six inspectors, 12 sub-inspectors (SIs) and 30 constables will be on duty in this station.
This police station will focus specifically on cases of encroachment on tanks, parks and government lands. There is a possibility of transferring many land encroachment cases already registered in other police stations to the newly established Hydra Police Station. This will enable it to respond to related matters more quickly and take action without fear.
Although the Hydra department has so far been at the level of officially coordinating activities, now the connection with a separate police station will give this department additional strength. Like the disaster and fire departments, Hydra will also become a system with the authority to register cases and conduct investigations on its own.
Issues such as encroachment of government lands and the plight of tanks have already become major obstacles to the development of the city. Hydra Police Station will play a key role in taking appropriate action against these problems.
