Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy emphasized that only those who contested under the Congress party’s banner would be considered for cabinet positions. Speaking to the media in Delhi on Friday, he underscored the party’s commitment to strictly adhere to this criterion. Revanth Reddy also addressed the state’s financial situation, noting that under the previous administration, Telangana had accumulated a debt of Rs 7 lakh crore.
“As TPCC chief, I successfully navigated through two pivotal elections, achieving positive outcomes in both,” Revanth Reddy stated, reflecting on his tenure. He mentioned that his term as PCC president would conclude on July 7, indicating that decisions regarding cabinet appointments and the PCC chief role would be coordinated. Revanth Reddy reassured the public of uninterrupted power supply in Telangana, addressing recent disruptions in distribution, particularly affecting services like RTC due to the implementation of free schemes for women.
In a separate announcement, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy declared that guidelines for a farm loan waiver would be released within four days. He clarified that eligibility for the waiver would be determined not by ration cards but through other means of family identification, primarily based on passbook records. After implementing the loan waiver, Revanth Reddy highlighted that the government’s focus would shift to initiatives like Rythu Bandhu and other agricultural schemes.
Looking ahead to the state budget session, scheduled shortly after the Union Budget presentation, Revanth Reddy instructed officials to draft a budget aligned with realistic fiscal expectations. He stressed the importance of avoiding overestimations and ensuring that budgetary calculations remain pragmatic and feasible.
The assembly agenda will also include discussions on mandals, revenue divisions, and the establishment of a commission following comprehensive deliberations. Deliberations on matters related to the Kaleswaram project and the recommendations of the dam safety authority will also be addressed during the assembly sessions under Revanth Reddy’s leadership.
