CM Chandrababu warns No place For criminals Under His Rule

Recalling the effective suppression of problems like rowdyism, Naxalism and smuggling during his previous regime, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that there will be no place for criminals in the state under his rule.

He inaugurated the “AI4 Andhra Police Hackathon” being organized at RVR & JC Engineering College in Guntur on Friday. This national-level hackathon, which will be held for three days from June 27 to 29, aims to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) in the police department and modernize its performance.

Stating that development can only happen where there is proper law and order, he said that the focus has been on anti-social forces along with technology.  He said that in the context of the current challenges faced by the police, the use of artificial intelligence is necessary in crime investigation, surveillance, timely information analysis, criminal profiling, etc.

“Today, the way people commit crimes is changing. AI and data-based approaches are the way to accurately identify them and provide specific solutions. In this direction, Andhra Pradesh should set an example for the country in AI and data-based governance,” he added.

“Artificial intelligence is not for the future — it is the need of the hour. It is a key tool for effective governance and modernizing policing,” he said. He described AI as a major step in increasing technological collaboration between the government and the private sector.

The hackathon is being organized by the state government in collaboration with 4SightsAI, a private technology company. More than 60 teams from across the country and internationally are participating in it. Engineering students, startups, and IT companies will come together to create AI-based solutions to eight major problems faced by the police.

The government is providing free accommodation and no registration fee to encourage the youth in this event. While the winners of the hackathon who create AI-based solutions will be given cash prizes of Rs. 10 lakh, the government aims to implement the best solutions as pilot projects in the state.
