CM Chandrababu warns Excessive use of Urea cases cancer, offers Rs 800 Incentive per Bag To Discourage Usage

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, suggesting that farmers should be made aware that excessive use of urea causes cancer, announced that a direct incentive of Rs 800 per bundle will be provided to farmers who reduce the amount of urea they are currently using. He said that these incentives will be given to farmers who reduce the use of urea from next year.

Chief Minister Chandrababu made this announcement during a discussion on the agriculture sector at the Collectors’ Conference being held at the Amaravati Secretariat. Stating that cancer is in the list of top five diseases in AP, he warned that if urea continues to be used in this way, there is a possibility of it becoming the number-1 state in cancer. He asked the officials to ensure that urea is used in a balanced manner from next year.

Stating that it should be given under micronutrient supplements, CM Chandrababu clarified that it is not right to think that more urea will yield more crops. He suggested the state of Punjab as a case study for this. He said that the subsidy given to the state government under the PM Pranam should be given to the farmers. He said that the farmer should not suffer, and public health should be good.

The Chief Minister made it clear that there is no shortage of urea, and that door delivery should be done if necessary. Chandrababu recalled that chillies were sent back from China because our farmers were using too much urea, and the same thing happened in Aqua. He commented that some European countries are reducing the prices of our products.

CM Chandrababu said that people should plant fine varieties that they can eat, otherwise no one will eat them, and that eating habits are changing and carbohydrates are being reduced. He suggested that steps be taken accordingly. The Chief Minister suggested that animal hostels should be constructed in 157 constituencies, excluding urban constituencies.

He revealed that the construction of cowsheds is giving a return gift to the state. He believed that the role of live stock is crucial in the growth of GSDP, and if feed production is linked to Dwakra groups, they can earn good income.
