It is understood that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has set his sights on them, as his own party circles are expressing deep dissatisfaction with the performance of the MLAs.
He has decided to send the NDA MLAs to the people from July 1. To this end, he is going to ask them to take the coalition government to the people and explain the successes of the year of its rule. He is advising the MLAs to realize that no matter how well the government works, if it fails to tell the truth, the people will not support it.
Therefore, Chandrababu is going to announce a new program to send the MLAs to the people from July 1. He has been unhappy with the performance of the MLAs since the coalition government took power in the state. Along with cabinet meetings, he has been asking the MLAs to stay away from corruption and irregularities and to be among the people on many occasions. He even warned them not to remain as `one-time’ MLA and should aspire to re-elect in the next election also.
However, there is still a debate that many MLAs are taking Chandrababu’s words lightly. The latest surveys have also indicated the same. In the name of encouraging the youth, about 80 people who have no active connection with the party were given seats in the last elections and won.
However, party supporters are now not happy with most of them. There are allegations that they are keeping the TDP ranks away locally. There are criticisms that some are encouraging local YSRCP leaders and officials who are in their favor. In this context, Chandrababu discussed the coalition’s one-year rule with the ministers once again in the cabinet meeting. Later, he decided to send NDA MLAs to the people from July 1.
Since there are many allegations about the performance of MLAs in the latest surveys and complaints against MLAs in the IVRS surveys he is conducting, it seems that Chandrababu wants to start the purge with them first.
