A key step has been taken towards the construction of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in the capital of AP, Amaravati. The ground breaking ceremony for Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Amaravati will be held on August 13. Announcing this, Hospital Chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna and his close associates inspected the arrangements in the backdrop of the ground breaking ceremony on Saturday. On the other hand, it is known that Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital is being built in Amaravati on a total of 21 acres. Balakrishna explained the hospital construction plans to the CRDA Additional Commissioner.
The construction of Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital will be undertaken in a total of three phases. On the other hand, it is known that the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Amaravati will be built with a capacity of 300 beds in the first phase. Later, there are plans to expand it to a thousand beds.
Steps were taken to build Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Amaravati between 2014-19. The government had already allocated land for this. However, the process was delayed after the YSRCP won the 2019 elections and came to power. Now, once again, the coalition government has allocated land, and it is expected to speed up the construction work.
It may be recalled that Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital is already providing services in Hyderabad and known as one of the best cancer treatment hospitals in the country. This decision was taken with the intention of having a hospital in AP after the bifurcation of the state. TDP founder and former Chief Minister Late NTR’s wife Basavatarakam passed away due to cancer.
Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital was built in Hyderabad with the intention of preventing others from facing such problems. This hospital provides better medical services to the poor at a low cost. If they cannot pay the medical expenses, free treatment and financial assistance are also provided to such people. Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital is being set up in Amaravati with the intention of making such a hospital available to the people of AP as well.
