Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu will campaign in the national capital New Delhi Assembly elections on behalf of BJP candidates. On February 1, he will campaign in support of BJP candidates in areas where Telugus live in large numbers in New Delhi.
It is known that the BJP top leadership has invited CM Chandrababu Naidu to participate in the Delhi Assembly election campaign. The assembly election polling will be held on February 5. The results of the assembly elections will be announced on February 8.
Earlier, in the Maharashtra Assembly elections too, CM Chandrababu Naidu and AP Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan campaigned separately for BJP and its allies. The Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra achieved a resounding victory in this election. With this, senior BJP leader and former CM Devendra Fadnavis once again took charge as the Chief Minister of the state.
It also planned to campaign with CM Chandrababu in the Delhi Assembly elections. In this context, it asked him to participate in the election campaign. Every time during Delhi Assembly elections several BJP leaders from the South used to take active part in the party’s campaign. But, this time somehow not many leaders are soon.
So far, only Nizamabad MP D Aravind is campaigning in one assembly constituency. Retired IAS officer Dr Dasari Srinivasulu, who was member of the Delhi Election Manifesto committee, also was in the national capital for a couple of days for the party’s campaign. Few more leaders are likely also to take part.
Among 40 star campaigners that BJP announced, for the first time not a single party leader or union minister from the South were included. During the last three successive elections, the Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal has been winning in Delhi polls. Prior to that three times Congress had won and Sheila Dikshit became Chief Minister. After a gap of 27 years, the BJP is now making hectic efforts to gain power in the national capital.
