Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu revealed that a cancer hospital is being set up in Amravati soon and land has already been allocated for it. He said that he will discuss with Dr. Nori Dattatreya on how to build it. He also said that deep technology and quantum computing will soon be brought to Amaravati, and both of these have a good future in the coming days.
He launched the book ‘Mantada to Manhattan’ written by renowned cancer expert Dr. Nori Dattatreya in Vijayawada on Monday and revealed that Dattatreya will be appointed as the government’s advisor in the fight against cancer.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Chandrababu said that Dattatreya is serving the people through the Nori Foundation. He said that India is in the third place among the countries with the highest cancer epidemic in the world.
He said that 40,000 people die of cancer every year in the state and if cancer is detected early, given proper treatment, there is no danger to life. He expressed his concern that many people are taking their lives due to lack of awareness.
Dattatreya was born in an ordinary family and rose to an extraordinary level. Chandrababu said that Dr. Nori Dattatreya’s life was not a big deal. He praised that he was born in a remote Mantada and impressed the world with his services. He said that it is not an ordinary thing for Dattatreya to be number one in the world in his chosen field.
Chandrababu said that he has saved the lives of many people in his 50-year medical career. When NTR’s wife Basavatarakam was diagnosed with cancer, it was Dattatreya who provided medical services to her in America. He said that NTR established a Cancer Hospital after she requested to set up a cancer hospital for the people.
He said that many services are being provided through the Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital in Hyderabad. He suggested reducing the use of pesticides in agriculture and avoiding eating junk food and fast food. He said that there is a need to change lifestyles.
