Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu referring to N T Rama Rao’s continuous service to the people said that NTR as a person constantly strived for a better society. He appreciated that Nandamuri Balakrishna through a cancer hospital in the name of Basavatarakam and Bhuvaneswari through NTR Memorial Trust have been serving the people as a great tribute to NTR.
On the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the NTR Trust, a ‘Euphoria Musical Night’ was organized at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada for the victims of Thalassemia. CM Chandrababu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Minister Nara Lokesh, and many film and political figures attended this concert. On this occasion, Pawan Kalyan announced a Rs 50 lakh donation to serve the victims of Thalassemia patients.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrababu said that this program has proven his belief that Bhuvaneswari can effectively manage the NTR Trust. He said that Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s donation of Rs. 50 lakhs to the NTR Trust is commendable. He congratulated music director Thaman for coming forward to organize the event without charging a single rupee.
Nara Bhuvaneswari, Managing Trustee of NTR Memorial Trust, expressed her concern that thalassemia is a disease that is not known to the world except to the victims. She said that this program has been undertaken to stand by the children affected by the disease. She said that the main purpose of Euphoria Musical Night is to provide reassurance to thalassemia children.
Bhuvaneswari said that thalassemia children have a lot of difficulty even breathing. She said that blood transfusion is essential for them and blood donation is a donation of life. She urged the youth to become blood donors. She advised them to donate with their families and friends.
She revealed that she has decided to set up Thalassemia Care Centers thinking about what the NTR Trust can do for children. She said that the cost of setting up each center is Rs. 40 to Rs. 50 lakh, which is why this program has been organised. She thanked Thaman for coming with his team without expecting anything for such a good program. Bhuvaneshwari recalled that anchor Suma also participated in this program as a commentator without taking anything.
