CM Chandrababu says `Jai Swachh Sevak’ should Everyone’s slogan, Sanitation Workers Are True patriots

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that Jai Swachh Sevak should be everyone’s slogan and that sanitation workers who practice cleanliness are true patriots. He revealed that the Swachh Andhra program is being taken forward in the state with the spirit of movement. He appreciated that sanitation workers have eradicated unsanitary conditions on par with the heroic struggle of the soldiers in Operation Sindhoor.

The Chief Minister called for all efforts to bring clean hospitals and government offices in the state and wanted to pass on the legacy of cleanliness to future generations. He criticized the previous government for not being able to utilize the Swachh Bharat funds properly and expressed anger had left 85 lakh metric tons of garbage after imposing garbage tax.

He also flagged that Tirumala had become unclean and said that they had abolished the garbage tax and removed the garbage. He congratulated Minister Narayana and the municipal staff for removing the legacy waste. He revealed that they have set a target to make AP a zero waste state by January 1 and said that 100 clean chariots will be made available soon.

CM Chandrababu said that those who keep the surroundings clean should be respected and called for cleanliness to be seen everywhere in every office and on the roads, and to work for a clean, green and healthy state. He recalled that various cities in our state have won awards at the national level. He said that without Swachh Andhra  Swarnandhra is not possible.

He recalled that a study on cleanliness was done in Singapore and implemented it in the joint capital Hyderabad. He said that a night cleaning policy has also been implemented. He explained that the habit of planting trees is being instilled in students through the Green Passport. He said that the use-recover-reuse policy is not being implemented, but the use and throw policy is being implemented.

Municipal Administration Minister Dr. Narayana appealed for the participation of all sections to achieve Swachh Andhra Pradesh. He said that the CM voluntarily participates in the SwarnaAndhra Swachh Andhra program on the third Saturday of every month and creates awareness among the people.

He participated in the state-level Swachh Andhra Awards program at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram along with CM Chandrababu. The CM had instructed him to remove 85 lakh tons of garbage that existed in the state when the coalition government came to power in the state within a year, and revealed that the garbage was removed 15 days earlier than the municipal department had said.

He said that another 25 lakh tons of legacy waste lying on the ground would be completely removed by the end of December and there would be no garbage anywhere.
