Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that collectors are the key to the government’s successes. New collectors have been appointed for 12 districts in the state. Speaking to the collectors of all the districts through video conference on this occasion, he advised them to “accept my ideas and expectations. Give the best performance.” A collector is not an authority. The CM made it clear that they should not be arrogant or egoistic, and should be a common man.
“I will not tell you to do wrong. Political governance does not mean doing wrong. Working together. Give them the respect given to public representatives. I did not lose when I did political governance. I lost politically only when I did too much bureaucratic governance,” the Chief Minister gave directions.
“Be available to the people. Always interact with them. There are no rules for everything. Work from a human perspective. Only then will you and the government get a good name,” the CM said. “Your decisions should be creative and innovative. You should use the central government schemes. It will not work if you sit and say that there is no money for everything”, he added.
Stating that he is competing with everyone to be AP number 1 above all states, CM Chandrababu said likewise Collectors should also compete with other districts to be ahead of all districts.
“Working as a collector means you get good recognition. The collector’s job is a good opportunity to bring changes in the lives of people. If you work at the field level, you can show change in everything. If you are responsible and transparent as collectors… your subordinates will also follow them. You should inspire them,” he said.
“I have selected you as the best option among the options available to me in the selection of district collectors, you should show the best performance. You are my team as the Chief Minister for the fourth time. If you work, I will encourage you. If the expected results are not achieved, I will not carry you. At the same time, I am saying that it is political governance. Look at the good and bad in what the MLAs and ministers say…it is useful for the people…”, he added.
