Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that it is a myth that investment MoUs should be signed in Davos itself, adding that the state has received investments worth Rs. 4 lakh crores even before the Davos summit.
“BPCL is going to set up the country’s largest oil refinery in Ramayapatnam with an investment of Rs. 95,000 crores. The company has already released Rs. 6,000 crores for preliminary examination and land acquisition. Arcelor-Nippon Company is trying to set up a huge steel factory at Nakkapalli in Anakapalle district with an investment of Rs. 35 lakhs”, he said.
He recalled that the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the Green Hydrogen Hub to be set up in Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam with an investment of Rs. 85 lakhs. “The people who destroyed the state are now crying out for what we brought from Davos. Have they brought at least a Rs.1000 crore project to the state in the last five years? Moreover, existing people have been thrown out. Amar Raja was gone. Now we have to fix everything,” he added.
The Chief Minister asserted that if they have destroyed the brand AP, we are now restoring it. He also said that the LG is setting up a manufacturing plant in the state with an investment of Rs. 5,000 crore. Green Co is going to set up a green ammonia plant in Kakinada. Reliance has decided to set up 500 compressed biogas manufacturing units in the state in collaboration with Malaysia’s Petronas.
CM Chandrababu further said that Google Cloud wants to set up its division in Visakhapatnam and discuss some tax-related issues with the center. TCS is going to set up a development center there with 10,000 employees.
“We are asking Air India, which is run by Tata Company, to build an airport in the state. There are opportunities for investments worth Rs. 10 lakh crore in the green energy and green hydrogen sectors alone for the state”, he added.
After so many MoUs, Chandrababu said that it is not right to think that they did not happen. Stating that it is a healthy tradition for states to compete in Davos, he recalled that the Kerala government team, which is ruled by the Left, also came to Davos and tried to attract investments. “If there is no competition, we cannot move forward. But it is a mutual cooperative competition,” Chandrababu explained.
