CM Chandrababu Released Green Hydrogen Valley Amaravati Declaration

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu released the Green Hydrogen Valley Amaravati Declaration on Monday. The declaration announced the necessary actions to transform AP into a Green Hydrogen Valley by 2030. The state government announced this declaration based on the issues discussed in the two-day Green Hydrogen Summit held recently in Amaravati.

600 representatives and industry experts participated in the summit held in Amaravati. CEOs, COOs and MDs of green hydrogen companies participated in this summit, which was held in 7 sessions. Discussions were held on experiments, technology and investments related to green hydrogen production.

This declaration was announced to formulate procedures for the production of clean fuels and green hydrogen manufacturing in India. The coalition government led by Chandrababu Naidu has aimed to create favorable conditions for the production of green hydrogen in the state. The declaration decided to develop it as a green energy corridor.

The main purpose of the declaration is to establish the largest ecosystem in the country for the production of green hydrogen in the state. The target is to manufacture 2 gigawatts of electrolyzers by 2027 and 5 gigawatts by 2029. The action plan is to produce 1.5 million metric tons of green hydrogen per year by 2029 and reduce the price of a kilo of hydrogen gas from Rs. 460 to Rs. 160.

It is planned to set up infrastructure for the distribution of 25 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2029. CM Chandrababu Naidu announced that the government will spend Rs. 500 crore for research in the field of green hydrogen. The declaration also stated that 50 startups that take the lead in this field will be encouraged.

Industry sources believe that through this declaration, Andhra Pradesh has the opportunity to gain special recognition on the global green energy map. Analysts believe that this is a strong step to position AP as a model state that will lead to green hydrogen manufacturing across the country.
