Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested that plans be prepared to make good use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) services in medical services. In a review with the health department officials, he said that the government is taking steps to strengthen the medical and health department and make quality medicine available to the poor.
He said that steps are being taken to provide better and quality medicine to everyone in the state. He suggested that the medical and health department should focus on preventive health care. He suggested that a situation should be created where everyone with a health problem can get medical help through technology without the need to come to the hospital.
The Chief Minister said that good results would be achieved by preparing health reports of the people, implementing health tests and issuing health cards by the government. He ordered a pilot project to know the health conditions of the people by conducting various tests including blood tests through 104 services.
He said that 4.30 crore people belonging to 1.43 crore families are receiving free medical services through NTR Medical Service and free treatment is provided for 3,257 types of diseases. There is a health coverage of Rs. 25 lakh per family per year. While the NTR Medical Service program is currently being run on a trust basis, the issue of bringing this program under the insurance system was discussed.
Officials explained that the health insurance system will provide better and quality services. The CM said that the state should be divided into two units and the insurance system should be started. It was decided to run this program through insurance companies in the public and private sectors. The CM suggested setting up Jan Aushadhi drug shops in each mandal.
The CM decided to give an additional Rs. 4,000 in addition to the salary to the 108 service staff. He criticized the YSRCP government for reducing this to Rs. 2,000. The CM also discussed the strengthening of government hospitals, 108, 104 services.
