CM Chandrababu Naidu Emphasizes Investment Security, Police Vigilance, and Welfare

During the Police Martyrs’ Memorial Day program held at APSP 6th Battalion Grounds in Mangalagiri on Tuesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu underscored the critical role of law and order in attracting global investments. Highlighting that companies like Google are investing in the state due to its robust security environment, he emphasized that a safe and stable environment not only draws industrialists but also drives overall development and employment generation. The CM paid homage to police personnel by receiving a guard of honour and laying a floral wreath at the memorial for officers who sacrificed their lives in duty.

Naidu stressed that providing complete security for investors is a primary government responsibility. He cited Google’s $15 billion AI Data Hub in Visakhapatnam as an example of a major project enabled by the state’s stable law and order. The Chief Minister lauded the proactive role of the Andhra Pradesh Police in containing factionalism, Naxalism, and other forms of public disorder, emphasizing that peace and security are the bedrock of development and social welfare.

Paying tribute to officers who lost their lives in the line of duty, Naidu noted that policing is a selfless service, not merely a profession. He recalled the October 21, 1959 incident in Ladakh where 10 soldiers sacrificed their lives, and highlighted that 192 police personnel nationwide had died this year protecting citizens. He urged society to recognise their sacrifices as a source of inspiration.

Addressing emerging crime trends, the CM cautioned against offenders exploiting political and communal covers to incite unrest, referencing incidents such as the death of Pastor Praveen and the Ambedkar statue burning in Nellore. He detailed the technological empowerment of the police through CCTV surveillance, drones, and phone signal tracking to prevent and monitor crime. Naidu also reaffirmed the government’s commitment to police welfare, including medical assistance, insurance, salary increments, recruitment of 6,100 constables, timely departmental promotions, and ongoing support for the families of officers.
