After the completion of 13 months of the coalition government, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is said to be making an exercise for a major cabinet reshuffle. Deputy Speaker Raghurama Krishnam Raju, Kovvur MLA Vemireddy Prasanth Reddy and some other key persons likely to be inducted into the cabinet. The cabinet reshuffle is likely to be taken up in the second week of August.
It may be recalled that the Chief Minister has been expressing his dissatisfaction with the performance of several ministers several times. He has been saying the same thing in every cabinet meeting. He warned that if the performance does not improve, the days will have to be counted. However, there is no change in the behavior of some ministers.
With this, it seems that preparations are being made for a cabinet purge. Moreover, the equations are changing politically. So, it seems that preparations are being made for a purge based on the performance of ministers. It is said that six to eight ministers are certain to change at a time. And work is ongoing on the change of some departments.
Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is yet to announce his final decision on the inclusion of his elder brother K. Nagababu in the cabinet. Similarly, the BJP has also proposed to give them another ministerial post. It seems that this time the purge is continuing by giving priority to allies and increasing the number of seniors.
Now, party leaders have informed that Raghurama Raju, who is currently the Deputy Speaker, will be inducted into the cabinet. It is expected that senior TDP MLA Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdhury will get a chance as the Deputy Speaker. Similarly, there is talk of removing Kandula Durgesh, who is a minister from Jana Sena.
Along with Nagababu, former minister Konathala Rama Krishna’s name is being heard prominently from Jana Sena. There is a big campaign going on to remove three of the current ministers from North Andhra. The names of Palla Srinivas, Konathala and Kala Venkata Rao are being heard in their place.
Similarly, it is said that Subhash is likely to be removed from Godavari districts. There is information that there is a chance to remove a minister currently representing Nellore. It is expected that Prashanthi Reddy will get a chance from Nellore. It seems that Venkataraju also will get a chance as a minister.
It is expected that a minister from Rayalaseema will be removed. Former chief minister and BJP leader N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s brother Nallari Kishore Kumar Reddy is also likely to be inducted into the cabinet. Chandrababu is of the opinion that the ministers have not responded properly during the series of controversies being manipulated by former chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy.
