The newly formed TDP government in Andhra Pradesh has initiated the disbursement of pensions under the ‘NTR Bharosa’ scheme. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu launched the program on Monday morning by personally distributing pensions to beneficiaries in Penumaka, Mangalagiri constituency.
During his visit, Chief Minister Naidu handed over Rs 7,000 in cash to beneficiaries, which includes a standard pension of Rs 4,000 and an additional Rs 3,000 covering a three-month hike from April. This event marked the start of statewide pension distribution efforts.
Minister Nara Lokesh accompanied Chief Minister Naidu and both were warmly received by local residents. The pension distribution is set to continue across the state throughout the day, targeting a total of 65.18 lakh beneficiaries. The state government has allocated Rs 4,408 crore for this initiative, with 1,20,097 personnel involved in the process.
The coalition government is keen to fulfill its election promises promptly, aiming for 100 percent distribution on the first day. Each secretariat employee has been tasked with providing pensions to 50 beneficiaries, with additional support from anganwadi and ASHA staff in areas with larger numbers of beneficiaries. Any beneficiaries unable to receive their pensions on the first day will be visited by village and ward secretariat staff on the second day.
In Penumaka, Pamula Nayak’s family received their pensions directly from Chief Minister Naidu. Pamula Nayak benefits from an old-age pension, while his daughter receives a widow pension. Additionally, the Chief Minister sanctioned and handed over a house deed to the Nayak family upon their request for housing assistance.
