CM Chandrababu Directed CRDA To complete 1.18 Lakh TIDCO Houses By June 12

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the CRDA to complete and inaugurate 1.18 lakh TIDCO houses  by June 12 next year. The 44th meeting of the CRDA Authority, chaired by the Chief Minister has approved another Rs 2,723 crore capital Amaravati construction work.

The meeting decided to provide infrastructure in LPS Zone 7 and Zone-10. The Capital Outer Ring Road and Vijayawada Bypass Road projects were also discussed. So far, the CRDA Authority has approved works worth Rs 47, 288 crore. Urban Development Minister Dr. Ponguru Narayana said that the tender process for the capital construction works will be completed by the 15th of next month.

The minister reminded that the previous Telugu Desam government had taken approval from the Center for more than 7 lakh TIDCO houses in the state and had undertaken the construction of more than 3 lakh houses. He said that the Central and State governments were ready to provide Rs 3.90 lakh for the construction of each house.

He said that if the Telugu Desam government had continued in 2019, 7 lakh houses would have been completed. He criticized the Jaganmohan Reddy government for reducing the number of 7 lakh houses to 2.61 lakh. He said that Rs 7,512 crore would be required to complete these 2.61 lakh houses.

The Minister was angry that the previous government had taken loans for the unbuilt houses and created many problems. He was angry that even if Rs. 102 crores were paid to the banks, the construction of houses would not move forward. He said that the CM had approved the release of Rs. 102 crores to be paid to the banks. He clarified that the government’s goal is to develop all the districts in the state equally and none of the burden of the capital construction cost would fall on the people.

He said that the loans taken for the construction of the capital will be repaid only with the wealth created through the sale of lands and development of the capital. He expressed his anger that the Sakshi media is continuing its malicious campaign against the Amaravati capital even as the YSRCP leaders are still in a state of discontent.
