Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu suggested that fertilizer supply should be taken up based on farmers’ Aadhaar with the linkage of Web Land during the coming Rabi season. He directed the collectors to go to the field level and personally monitor the supply of fertilizers. He also said that doubts and concerns of the farmers regarding the supply of fertilizers should be removed.
CM Chandrababu held a teleconference with the collectors, SPs and agriculture department officials on the availability and supply of fertilizers. He expressed satisfaction by comparing the information gathered from the districts with the information given by the officials.
The collectors explained to the CM how much fertilizer is available in the districts and what the demand is. Officials said that the supply of fertilizers is going on properly and that farmers are getting it as per their demand. They said that 77,396 metric tons of fertilizers are available in all the districts.
A vessel will arrive at Kakinada port tomorrow, from which 15,000 metric tons of fertilizer will be available. Officials brought to the attention of the CM that an additional 41,000 tons of fertilizer will be arriving in the state in the next 10 days.
However, CM Chadnrababu said that there is a shortage of fertilizer in some areas of Bapatla, Krishna and Kadapa districts, and they are bringing it from other areas to solve this problem. He asked that that problem should also be solved quickly. He directed that employees from the village and ward secretariats to the district collector should visit the field level and inspect the supply of fertilizer.
The Chief Minister advised the farmers that they need not worry due to availability of fertilizers. He clarified that farmers should be assured that everyone will get fertilizer. Similarly, the CM directed that the necessary data linkage be done to bring a mechanism to provide fertilizers as per the requirement by seeing who grows what amount of crop through this crop registration.
CM Chandrababu praised the collectors and agriculture department officials for going to the field level and creating awareness about fertilizer supply to farmers.
