CM Chandrababu Asks officials To purchase onions From Farmers At Rs 1200 per Quintal

In view of distress marketing conditions, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed the officials to purchase onions from farmers at the rate of Rs. 1200 per quintal. He suggested that the onion crop should be purchased immediately and stored. CM Chandrababu has issued orders to dry the onions by renting community halls.

While reviewing the onion purchases from farmers at the State Secretariat, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed that farmers be given the opportunity to store the onions in community halls until the price is fixed. Officials explained that 5,000 metric tons of onion crop will be harvested in the next 10 days. He directed that steps should be taken to ensure that the purchased and dried onions are sold in farmers’ markets.

The Chief Minister ordered that the onions should be purchased immediately and that farmers should not suffer any loss. He suggested that warehouse facilities should be provided to stabilize the prices of all crops. He has directed that immediate steps should be taken for modernization along with increasing the number of farmers’ markets.

On the other hand, several key issues were discussed at the State Investment Promotion Council meeting led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He discussed proposals for food processing, incentives for industries, APIIC proposals for industries, private parks, MSME parks. He spoke about private mega industrial parks, tourism department proposals, and electricity department proposals.

He said that the proposals of the Electronics and Communication Department were discussed and approved in the Investment Promotion Council. By approving the SIPB proposals, there are chances of providing employment opportunities to 83,437 people with an investment of Rs. 53,922 crores, CM Chandrababu explained.
