Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to formulate schemes keeping the family as a unit in mind for achieving development in all sectors. He held a review with officials of finance, planning and other key departments on issues like development and GSDP.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that people, vision, nature and technology should be given priority in governance. He said that while preparing plans, the goal should be to achieve quality living standards of the people and the Planning Department should also formulate a special action plan in the state on the lines of NITI Aayog at the Centre.
The Chief Minister directed that the living standards of the people should be improved by increasing the per capita income in the state and that it should be achieved at Rs 3,47,871 per capita by the end of this financial year. He also suggested that it should be achieved at Rs 5.42 lakh per capita by 2029.
Chandrababu said that all government departments should prepare advance plans in the sectors under their jurisdiction, set short, medium and long-term goals and move forward. He said that officials should also focus on the environment. He suggested that a circular economy should be implemented so that waste from one industry can be used as raw material for another industry and that natural resources should be used efficiently.
He said that the main focus should be on increasing the value of goods. He said that the state’s GSTDP would also increase. He commented that mining and agriculture are key to GVA. Currently, horticultural crops have generated GVA of up to Rs 1,26,098 crore, while aqua and allied industries have generated GVA of Rs 1.12 lakh crore. He said that the health details of every family in the state should be recorded.
Chandrababu also clarified that details of the respective departments should be collected and recorded on all aspects such as forest greenery, air quality, and per capita electricity consumption. He said that the focus should not be limited to income generation and wealth creation alone, but should also be on development and welfare.
The Chief Minister suggested that indicators should be implemented in all sectors to measure the progress achieved in various sectors. While indicators are currently being implemented in 42 areas, they want all government departments to set up indicators with specific standards. They want this to be implemented in key sectors such as electricity, irrigation, transport, and industries as well.
