CM Chandrababu Asks Banks To provide Full support For AP’s Economic progress

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has asked banks to provide full support for the state’s economic progress. As the state is getting huge projects and while working in line with the Swarnandhra-2047 vision and the main focus is on the projects and targets to be completed by 2029, he said that banks should provide support to all of these.

The 231st State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at the Amaravati Secretariat on Tuesday. In this meeting, the CM unveiled the annual loan plan prepared with Rs 6,60,000 crore for the financial year 2025-26. The CM also discussed the results achieved in 2024-25 with banking officials.

He congratulated them for exceeding one hundred percent targets and being the best in South India. CM Chandrababu also set the targets for 2025-26. He said that the support of banks is essential for any sector to achieve progress. He said that banks should provide necessary financial support to projects coming up in various sectors.

Chandrababu said that Visakhapatnam is making unprecedented progress in economic development and is also developing industrially. He said that Amaravati is being made a platform for future needs, and that the Rayalaseema region will be developed as a horticulture hub and a center for electronic products. He wanted bankers to focus on the petro corridor.

The Chief Minister said that various programs are being taken up to strengthen the agriculture-related sectors. He asked for direct loans to be given to fishermen as they are suffering due to the involvement of middlemen. He said that there are many opportunities in the marine economy and if they are utilized properly, miracles can be achieved.

He said that bankers should think about what can be done specifically for the development of women, tenant farmers, SC, ST, BC and minorities. He directed them to work towards exceeding the loan plan targets set in 2025-26. Chandrababu said that AP is an agriculture-based state and since most of the people depend on it for their livelihood in the agriculture sector.
