CM Chandrababu anger over adulterated liquor, YCP’s fake liquor campaign

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu expressed his deep anger over the manufacturing of adulterated liquor and the propaganda of fake liquor by the YSRCP in the state. He deplored that people are being scared in the name of fake liquor all over the state. “There is a false propaganda that lives are being lost due to adulterated liquor, this is just a political conspiracy,” he clarified.

The CM held a review of the adulterated liquor issue and the functioning of the Excise Department along with ministers and senior officials at the Amaravati Secretariat. He asserted that “there should be no adulterated liquor manufacturing centers anywhere in the state. Attempts to scare people in the name of alcohol deaths should be stopped.”

He clarified that non-duty paid liquor coming from other states has been completely stopped with strong measures in 15 months, and the manufacturing of adulterated liquor should also be suppressed. Excise, enforcement and police departments have been ordered to work in coordination and take action against those involved in the manufacture of adulterated liquor.

CM Chandrababu speaking to ministers asked to frustrate the conspiracies of YSRCP leaders every time and respond immediately to fake campaigns and tell the truth to the people. He recalled them from the dramas played by YSRCP during the Viveka murder incident in 2019. He advised the ministerial team not to allow such “corpse politics” to be played again.

The officials submitted a report to the Chief Minister on the adulterated liquor case in Mulakalacheruvu, Annamayya district. Of the total 21 accused, 12 have already been arrested and the rest will be arrested soon, the officials said. They explained that an investigation was conducted into the businesses of A1 accused Addepalli Janardhan Rao.

Moreover, they said that fake liquor stocks were found behind a bar and grocery shop in Ibrahimpatnam, NTR district. Janardhan Rao said that he and his brother Addepalli Jaganmohan Rao illegally manufactured, supplied and sold adulterated liquor. They explained that 12 people have been identified as accused in the Ibrahimpatnam case, three have been arrested and four are being investigated on PT warrants.

The CM said that it is clear that attempts are being made to use the Annamayya district incident for political purposes. He was furious that fake videos and false news are being spread in the name of adulterated liquor in the state and creating panic among the people. “They are spreading false propaganda saying that one in every three bottles is adulterated liquor, this is an attempt to mislead the people,” the CM expressed deep anger.
