Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been alerted by the Delhi election results. He felt that the poll results are a warning signal on the people’s expectations from the rulers and also the model of governance they are expecting.
Though AAP chief Aravind Kejriwal was credited with winning the hearts of poor and middle-class people with the successful implementation of his welfare programmes, the results revealed that they are expecting more.
Chandrababu is now analyzing the mood of the people and what they expect from the government along with their support. After the Delhi results, he is making moves to prepare an action plan to be implemented in terms of governance and also politics. Though he compared Kejriwal’s defeat with that of last year’s Jaganmohan Reddy’s defeat, he felt there are many lessons for him too.
Delhi verdict that people became restless with Kejriwal’s continued excuses of non-cooperation from the Narendra Modi government. In the same way, Naidu also said that he realized that no longer can he keep people silent criticizing Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime.
Moreover, it was also clear that apart from welfare programmes, people are expecting focus on infrastructure, good urban governance, clean water, good roads and hazel-free traffic. This makes him focus more on his performance and also set right resource mobilization also.
Chief Minister Naidu will hold a key meeting on Tuesday. It has been nine months since the coalition government was formed. The coalition government, which came to power with a huge majority, will review the progress made during these nine months. He is focusing on the changes to be brought in terms of governance.
This meeting will be held with the ministers as well as officials of all departments. This key meeting will be held from the morning to the evening of the 11th. The meeting of ministers and secretaries will be held in two sessions. In the first session, file clearance, WhatsApp governance, Mission Karmayogi, and GSDP will be discussed.
In the second session, the central budget, the soon-to-be-introduced AP budget, implementation of the progress manifesto by departments, and Swarna Andhra 2047 will be discussed. CMO officials have issued instructions to the secretaries to send two presentations related to their departments.
The Chief Secretary has directed that the secretaries should prepare their presentations for 15 minutes after identifying the priorities of the government. The main focus will be on the progress made by departments in the past eight months. At what level are they achieving the targets?
There will be a special discussion about revenue-generating departments. The CM is likely to give clear instructions on the complaints coming in regarding coordination between ministers and officials. Similarly, it has been decided to allocate a specific time for the resolution of grievances coming from the general public. The CM will make suggestions to ensure that ministers and officials are available to the people every week.
