CID probe To Be Initiated Into TDR Bonds scam!

Chandrababu Naidu government is contemplating to initiate CID probe into TDR bonds scam. Municipal Administration minister Dr P Narayana brought this matter to the notice of the Chief Minister stating that it needs more in-depth investigation.

The government hopes that the identity of the real masterminds will come to light only if the CID is investigated. There are serious allegations against former minister Karumuri in the TDR bond scam.

Minister Narayana explained to CM Chandrababu how the Tanuku TDR Bonds scam happened. As the matter is in court, the government has decided to take legal opinion. The municipal administration department and the anti-corruption department found that bonds worth Rs. 754 crore  were issued in Tanuku Municipality.

ACB found that there were irregularities to the tune of Rs 691 crore. Government sources are surprised at the procedure followed for issuing bonds. During land acquisition, the government recognized that land was calculated in square yards for issuing bonds.

They wondered that after deciding Rs 55 lakh per acre, bonds were issued at the rate of Rs 10 crore per acre.  The government has already suspended three persons including the Municipal Commissioner in this matter.

The government has initiated an internal inquiry on the TDR bonds issued between 2019-24 across the state. On the other hand, the government is working on new guidelines on TDP bonds soon. A team of officials are examining systems being followed in many states to formulate a system that can curb irregularities.

During the YSRCP rule, there were large-scale irregularities in the issuance of TDP bonds. There are many allegations against YSRCP leaders. That is why the officials are traveling and studying in Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Haryana on the best practices in issuing bonds where there is no scope for corruption.

Apart from this, the process of giving permissions for new houses and building constructions will be implemented online. During the YSRCP regime, the online system was converted into a platform for illegal collections. With this, the coalition government is looking to simplify the permits.
