Chiranjeevi to Receive ANR National Award

September 20 marks the centenary of the legendary Tollywood actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. To commemorate this special occasion, the Akkineni family, fans, and movie enthusiasts are celebrating with the re-release of some of ANR’s timeless classics. A notable event was held where significant announcements were made, attended by Nagarjuna and family.

In honor of the Tollywood icon, the Akkineni International Foundation has instituted the ANR National Award. This prestigious award will be presented annually to individuals for their lifetime achievements and contributions to the Indian film industry. This year, the ANR National Award will be conferred upon Padma Vibhushan Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Nagarjuna revealed this exciting news during the ANR centenary celebrations, stating, “A special event will take place on October 28, where none other than Bollywood Shahenshah Amitabh Bachchan Garu will present the award to Chiranjeevi Garu.”

He further shared, “We aim to present this award annually. When I informed Chiranjeevi Garu about our decision, he was deeply moved and hugged me, expressing that this was the biggest award of his life. We are thrilled to announce this.”
