AP politics is changing fast as the ruling combine completes 8 months. While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is making plans for a strong comeback, CM Chandrababu Naidu is pushing governance with a big budget. Amidst all this political storm, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s entry into politics has been the hottest topic.
But Chiranjeevi himself has now addressed the issue and put an end to the speculation about his political future.
At the Laila event, Chiranjeevi made a revealing comment, “Praja Rajyam became Janasena” and that sparked a debate. Many recall how Praja Rajyam merger with Congress helped Pawan Kalyan to enter politics.
At the same time reports are that BJP is planning to strengthen its presence in AP by using the Mega Brothers. During Pawan Kalyan’s swearing in function, PM Narendra Modi recognized both Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan which added fuel to the fire. Chiranjeevi’s frequent meetings with top BJP leaders have raised many eyebrows in political circles.
According to sources BJP even offered Chiranjeevi a big role at the centre if he decides to enter politics. But many recall that after merging Praja Rajyam with Congress Chiranjeevi was a Union Minister till 2014 and then distanced himself from politics. Over the years he has openly supported Pawan Kalyan and said he wants to see his brother succeed in politics. Given these developments, speculation is that Chiranjeevi might actively work for Janasena in future, possibly with BJP.
Chiranjeevi Speaks Clearly on His Political Stand
Ends all the speculations, Chiranjeevi made a clear statement at the Brahma Anandam pre-release event, a film starring Raja Gautham.”I am meeting leaders, so I am planning a political comeback? Some are even asking if I have political ambitions. Let me put all doubts to rest—there is no truth to these rumors. My passion is in cinema and I am fully committed to the industry. I meet politicians only to discuss industry issues—nothing more. When it comes to politics and public service my brother Pawan Kalyan is taking care of that. I have no plans to enter politics; my focus will always be on cinema,” Chiranjeevi said.
With this statement Chiranjeevi has ended all the speculations about his political comeback and made it clear that he will continue to be in films and leave politics to Pawan Kalyan. This also means Chiranjeevi may support Janasena from the sidelines but will not be actively involved in politics himself.
