The cast and crew of Kubera, the recently released multilingual film directed by Sekhar Kammula, held a grand success celebration in Hyderabad on Sunday. Starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, the film was released on June 20 and has been receiving a positive response from audiences. Megastar Chiranjeevi attended the success meet as the chief guest, where he praised the film and the team behind it.
Speaking on stage, Chiranjeevi stated, “This success meet feels like one of my own. I’m truly happy to see the film succeed. I recall Nagarjuna telling me he was playing a different kind of role, and he believed the film would bring great success — and it has.” Chiranjeevi also commended Dhanush’s performance, saying he was unrecognizable in a particular scene and fully immersed in his role. He lauded director Sekhar Kammula for his realistic storytelling and noted that his films consistently connect deeply with audiences.
Director Sekhar Kammula expressed his gratitude to Chiranjeevi, calling him a “lucky charm.” Recounting their first meeting during his college days, Kammula said he was honoured to now celebrate a film’s success in Chiranjeevi’s presence. He added that although there were initial doubts about audience reception due to the film’s unconventional theme, the strong support from viewers erased all concerns. The director also explained that the film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, and praised music director Devi Sri Prasad for his contribution.
Actress Rashmika Mandanna described Kubera as a major milestone in her career. “Before signing any film, I usually have doubts. But Kubera was different. I followed the director’s vision fully. This role has elevated me as an actor,” she said, thanking the entire team for the opportunity.
The event highlighted Kubera’s growing success and underlined the impact of strong storytelling and performances in regional cinema.
