TDP chief and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has alerted all party candidates, who are contesting in the present elections and asked them to go back to their respective constituencies in view of counting of votes in four days.
After the polling was over on May 13, he found most of the candidates were in a relaxing mood after a hectic poll campaign. However, he emphasized the need to be vigilant in view of the prevailing political situation in the state.
Chandrababu himself went on a US tour and returned three days ago only. Like him, many TDP candidates also went out of their constituencies and some of them on a foreign tour. After YCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s advice to his party agents to prepare for a foul play at counting of votes, TDP leaders are now cautious.
They are expecting that YCP leaders may attempt to create disturbances during counting of votes so that they may try to influence the results with the help of some of their trusted officials. Chandrababu Naidu cautioned party candidates, particularly in problematic areas, to be more cautious.
Naidu asked party candidates and also candidates of Jana Sena and BJP to be cautious during the next four days and prevent any foul play by the ruling party. Already most of the candidates returned to their respective constituencies and focused on appointment of agents and training counting agents.
Chandrababu Naidu has already conducted a teleconference with party candidates and chief agents on the precautions to be taken during counting of votes. He warned them not to be hasty and feel tension, but dealt with any problem cautiously.
Though all indications are suggesting massive victory for TDP and its allies in the polls, the TDP chief warned them that no one should act carelessly. He asked them to be careful on selection of election agents and checking of counting patterns from time to time should be done strictly.
