As he promised during the election campaign, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is preparing to sign on Mega DSC, soon after taking oath as Chief Minister of the state on June 12th. Concerned officials already working out in preparing relevant orders.
First, the Education Department is working out to cancel the notification given by the previous government. Lakhs of unemployed youth in the state are waiting for Mega DSC notification, as during his five-year term YS Jaganmohan Reddy failed to recruit teachers.
The Education Department has started the exercise to release a new DSC notification in the place of the old one. Verbal instructions have already been issued to the concerned officials to send the details of the vacant posts. There are only 6,100 vacant posts in the currently released notification by the previous government.
However, it seems that there is a possibility that the notification will be released to fill vacancies upto 15,000 posts. About 3.30 lakh candidates have applied during the previous government and the test was scheduled to be held on April 30. However, these tests were not conducted after the Election Code came into force.
The TET exams were held from February 27 to March 6, for which 2,67,559 candidates appeared for these exams across the state. EC has put a brake on the release of these exam results. Officials are expected to issue a notification mentioning at least double the number of posts as compared to the previous notification.
In July last year, the central government said in the Lok Sabha that 39,008 teacher posts were vacant in the state of AP. On July 31, 2023, Annapurna Devi, the then Union Minister of State for Education, answering a question in the Lok Sabha, said that 39,008 teacher posts are vacant in 2022-23 from class one to class eight.
