Chandrababu Wins Muslims Trust, Law Board Supports TDP

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) after formalizing its alliance with Narendra Modi- led BJP, the ruling YCP started a vicious campaign against creating fears among Muslims and other minorities against TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.

But, for the last few weeks making sincere efforts former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu succeeded in winning their trust that he would stand by them in all difficult situations. At several places he held special face to face sessions with Muslims and clarified their doubts.

As a result, at several places a large number of Muslims started coming forward in support of TDP and taking part in its campaigns. In a significant development, the members of the South Indian Muslim Personal Law Board declared its support to TDP.

They met TDP chief Naidu at his residence in Hyderabad on Wednesday and assured they would stand by him in these polls. Board President Rashid Sharif  reminded them that they supported the Telugu Desam Party in the 2014 elections also.

He said that Chandrababu Naidu is an icon of secularism. He said that TDP is always in the forefront in protecting the religious order. Chandrababu has always followed social balance. Development of all communities is possible only with the construction of Amaravati as a capital, he added.

He also recalled that the 2024 TDP Manifesto expressed its commitment  to the upliftment of minority communities. He congratulated the TDP for announcing a manifesto in support of the development of Muslims.

He recalled that it was the Telugu Desam Party that sent leaders like Lal Jan Bhasha to the Rajya Sabha. The South Indian Muslim Personal Law Board has good relations with Muftis, Ulemas and religious leaders in South India.

He assured Naidu that they will do their best through their organization to bring Telugu Desam Party to power. He called upon all the Muslim brothers and sisters in Andhra state to unilaterally vote for the Telugu Desam Party and make Chandrababu Naidu the Chief Minister after winning with an overwhelming majority.

Chandrababu recalled that earlier also when he was in alliance with BJP, he had never compromised on issues related to welfare of Muslims. He has openly announced to continue 4 per cent reservations for Muslims in the state, though BJP is committed to scrap religion-based reservations.
