Known for his unparalleled capacity of adopting new technologies among his contemporary politicians in the country, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been making moves with an ambitious target of making Andhra Pradesh as Drone capital of the country.
The strategic plan to make AP a center not only for the use of drones but also for manufacturing will be presented in a two-day national conference to be held in Mangalagiri on 22nd and 23rd of this month. Many countries are achieving excellent results by effectively using the technology of drones.
The Narendra Modi government is also planning to make India a drone manufacturing hub by 2030 under the slogan of Atma Nirbhar Bharat. There are huge opportunities for the use of drones in 14 sectors like defence, technology, agriculture, revenue, panchayat, electricity, roads, disaster management.
Chandrababu Naidu hopes to grab this opportunity before anyone else and turn AP into the capital of drones. Drones Corporation has already been set up specifically for governance, disaster management, and effective use of drone technology in people’s daily lives to achieve successful results.
As a part of this, Amaravati Drone Summit 2024 is being organized in Mangalagiri. Experts from Mumbai, Tirupati and Hyderabad IITs, domestic and foreign technical experts with vast experience in the field of drones will be invited to the conference.
Very recently, CM Chandrababu has received praise across the country for using drones effectively in the recent Vijayawada floods for relief activities. In this context, the government hopes to promote this sector more. It is estimated that around 5 lakh job opportunities can be created.
Discussions will be held with intellectuals and technical experts in the conference on the challenges faced in this direction. On the occasion of the inauguration of the Amaravati Drone Summit, the government is making arrangements for a huge demonstration at Krishna Beach in Vijayawada.
So far, the highest show in the country has been organized with 2000 drones, while the AP government wants to create a record by organizing a mega show with 5000 drones. Hackathon competitions will be organized and prizes will be given to the enthusiasts. Already 80 drone enthusiasts have registered for this competition.
