The 101st birth anniversary celebrations of TDP founder and late former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao people from two Telugu states are paying their tributes with flowers and also organising several service programmes.
On this occasion, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu paying tributes called upon the ranks to remember great services of the party founder. He said that discipline, perseverance, sincerity and the desire to do good to the people made Taraka Rama Rao, the son of a common farmer, a great leader.
Chandrababu praised NTR, who firmly believed that the society is the temple and the people are the Gods and said that he initiated the welfare regime for the first time in the country with the establishment of the Telugu Desam Party. NTR, who dedicated his life for a poverty-free state and for the glory of the Telugu nation, advised us to take the resolve to be for the people on the occasion of his birth anniversary.
Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu paying glorious tributes to the great leader of Telugu people, said that NTR, who was a great nationalist, stood against autocratic politics, planted the seed of an alternative political system in the country, became a guide and received praise as a great leader.
Venkaiah Naidu tweeted that Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was a great reformist who brought many revolutionary changes including property rights for women and decentralization of power.
TDP leader Nara Lokesh hailed NTR as a great leader who contributed greatly to the self-respect of the Telugu people, the welfare of the people and the development of the state.
On this occasion, NTR’s sons Nandamuri Balakrishna, Nandamuri Ramakrishna and daughter D. Purandeswari paid tributes to their father at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad. Balakrishna said that NTR means power and he is the idol of Telugu people. He reminded that NTR, born in a simple farmer’s family, gave priority to education first.
Balakrishna said that NTR came into the film industry after that and he is a university for acting. It is said that he entered politics at the time when he was emerging as the uncrowned Maharaja in the film industry. He reminded that the self-respect of the Telugu people has been shown.
“Earlier, politics was limited to a few people. But after NTR came, doctors, lawyers and fans were brought into politics. Posts were given to the poor and weaker sections who were far from power. Bold decisions were taken in the government. Many reforms were brought and welfare and development programs were undertaken,” he added.
Earlier, grandsons Junior NTR and Kalyan Ram garlanded at NTR Ghat. Similarly, Purandeshwari said that NTR is a name, not a person, but a sensation. She recalled that he entered politics and brought welfare schemes for the poor.
