Senior officials, who were known for their proximity with the YCP government for the last five years and played an active role in harassing TDP leaders, particularly Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, are now making attempts to please him so as to get pivotal postings in the present government also.
However, Chandrababu Naidu seems to be hard towards such officials, refusing to budge on their request for personal meetings. In the heads of the departments meetings, he was practically slapped by such officers advising them to introspect their behaviour during the last five years.
“In 1995, I became CM for the first time. Some of those who worked with me back then are still here today. For the fourth time now I have taken charge as CM. The worst conditions seen today in the state have never been seen”, he said.
“IAS, IPS, IFS are highly respected jobs. Recruits from different states irrespective of a state. Some officers here have done exemplary work in the past. But you have to introspect what you have done in the last five years. I never imagined that the administration would be so unfair,” he added.
Many of the officers who played a key role in Chandrababu’s government between 2014-19 have pleased YSP leaders immediately after the 2019 election results were announced. Most of them could get prime postings presenting anti- Chandrababu attitude. Some of the All India Service officers who were supposed to work beyond ragades has worked for the ruling party more enthusiastically than the party workers.
When Chandrababu came to the Secretariat for the first time after taking oath on Thursday, such IAS and IPS officers tried to meet him in person. They include senior IAS officers Sri Lakshmi, Poonam Malakondaiah, Ajay Jain, Praveen Prakash, IPS officers Sunil Kumar and PSR Anjaneyulu. Earlier also they made a futile attempt to meet him at his residence.
Among them, officers like Poonam Malakondaiah, Praveen Prakash and Ajay Jain held key departments under Chandrababu in the past. But, Naidu refused to meet officers whose proximity with the YCP regime.
