Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said that illegal cases filed by YS Jaganmohan Reddy regime will be reviewed, for which the cabinet will discuss the constitution of a commission. Presenting a White Paper on the Law and Order scenario during the previous regime, he accused that cases were registered against the opposition leaders unfairly and illegally during this period.
He reminded that there are cases against over 80 percent of elected MLAs. Hee said he will review politically motivated cases. He warned that he is ready to punish the officials who filed illegal cases.
However, he assured there would be no vindictive attitude as people have not given power to settle political scores. But at the same time, he said there will be no compromise in punishing the wrongdoers legally.
Chief Minister said that the government will try hard to make Andhra Pradesh a zero-crime state. He made it clear that AP will be placed at the top in terms of law and order. Chandrababu commented that the rule of darkness continued in Andhra Pradesh between 2019-24. Street terrorism terrified common people also, he added.
He alleged that the Jagan government has filed hundreds of thousands of cases to suppress the opposition as the voice of the people. The Chief Minister said that 66 cases were filed against JC Prabhakar Reddy and dozens of cases against other leaders. 17 cases were filed against him during the previous government.
He also said that the previous regime misbehaved against Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and former YCP MP Raghurama Krishnam Raju was tortured in the lockup and the former CM got satanic pleasure after watching those videos. Ministers Achchennaidu and Narayana, along with the current Home Minister Anitha, have been accused of SC and ST atrocity cases and rape cases have also been filed against Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu, he added.
However, Chandrababu appealed to the NDA parties not to take the law into their hands and not give the government a bad name. He asserted that those who use political mask to commit crimes will be severely punished. He warned that those who try to disturb the law and order will not be ignored at any level.
