Chandrababu says Rs 10,000 Assistance per Acre of crop Loss

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, who visited the flood affected areas of Godavari districts on Wednesday assured that every person who has suffered due to floods will be supported. He also said that the compensation will be provided by the 17th of this month.

Chandrababu said that the YCP government has reduced the support given by the TDP government to agriculture and announced that the farmers who have lost crops will be given Rs 10,000 per acre and free fertilizers if the submerged crops recover. Moreover, he said that the flood victims will be given Rs.10,000 to buy clothes and cooking utensils.

Meanwhile, the teams are conducting enumeration collecting details of flood victims in Vijayawada city and are continuing their duty on Thursday also. While the three-day deadline ended on Wednesday, NTR District Collector Dr. G. Srijana said that the damage assessment teams will inspect the houses and record the details on Thursday also.

Collector Srijana said that rescue and relief operations have been successfully carried out in 32 wards and five villages that were severely affected by the flood in Vijayawada city. She said that the damage figures for around 2,32,000 families have been registered.

She said that in case of any difficulties related to loss calculation, the sub collector’s office (0866 2574454) and Vijayawada municipal office (8181960909) can be contacted and can register the details of flood losses.  The Collector said that the app has been made available for enumeration in Nandigama, Jaggayyapet, Thiruvuru and other areas and the enumeration will be completed in these areas as per the guidelines.

“Currently, the flood damage registration process has been completed in urban areas. It will be done in rural areas. Those who are not available in their homes due to flood and those who have not registered their details due to other reasons should contact the ward secretariats”, she said. She advised that they can also call the helpline numbers to give their information.

Relief means not only food and financial support, she assured that the government is working hard to provide assistance to the victims in all ways, so people should take advantage of these opportunities.
