Chandrababu Plans To Open Rushikonda Palace For Public Access Soon

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu visited Rushikonda Palace in Visakhapatnam today, accompanied by ministers, coalition leaders, and officials. During his tour, he closely examined the palace’s structures, questioning the materials and methods used in its construction. He announced that these details would soon be disclosed to the public, and added that the palace would be open for visitors.

Naidu expressed his deep disappointment, pointing out that the recent actions taken in Rushikonda seem contradictory to democratic principles. He shared that he’s seen a lot in his travels but has never witnessed a chief minister damaging the environment for personal luxury. Reflecting on historical landmarks like Chandragiri and Vijayanagaram palaces, he emphasized that no one has felt the need to replicate such structures today. Naidu suggested that a full inquiry into the palace might bring even more concerning revelations to light.

He also highlighted the importance of media coverage on Rushikonda’s environmental impact, noting that environmental experts seeking to investigate had been blocked from entering and had to turn to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the High Court for help. Naidu recalled how previous efforts by him, Pawan Kalyan, and BJP leaders to visit Rushikonda were similarly thwarted, but expressed optimism that today’s democratic environment allows people to understand the broader implications.

Naidu also compared Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to Escobar, yet clarified he has no personal grudge. He promised to release a video showcasing Rushikonda Palace, encouraging public dialogue on its impact.
