Chandrababu Naidu Slams Jagan Government Over Governance Failures And Corruption Allegations

In a candid conversation with the media in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu discussed several pressing issues surrounding governance, his political philosophy, and the challenges his party is facing. His remarks contrasted his leadership approach with that of the current government, emphasizing the importance of political accountability and effective governance.

Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that while former Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy faced serious allegations of corruption related to power purchase deals, he chose not to pursue political revenge. Despite the severity of the charges, Naidu emphasized that his focus was always on maintaining credibility and not on personal vendettas.

Addressing the ongoing corruption accusations within the Jagan government, particularly regarding power deals and land-related disputes, Naidu acknowledged that these issues could be politically advantageous. However, he made it clear that his administration would remain focused on good governance and would not use these controversies for political gain.

On the topic of power purchase agreements, Naidu explained that canceling these agreements could lead to significant financial penalties, which made it impossible to take immediate action. He also criticized the current government for stoking land-related issues, assuring the public that his administration was working to resolve these disputes in a structured and responsible way.

Regarding the errors in land surveys, Naidu expressed that necessary corrections should be made, and his government was actively working on addressing these mistakes. He assured that a fair resolution would be found that would be agreeable to all affected parties, with specific attention to resolving land issues in the five villages of Visakhapatnam, including the Simhachalam Panchayat.

Naidu also highlighted his government’s efforts in supporting backward classes (BCs). He pointed out that several prominent positions in the state, including the Union Minister, Assembly Speaker, TDP state president, Chief Secretary, and DGP, were held by individuals from BC communities. He criticized the previous administration for concentrating power within one specific social group and reiterated his commitment to promoting social equity through his government’s approach of “social engineering.”

Furthermore, Naidu outlined initiatives from his tenure, such as the allocation of 340 liquor shops to the Gita labor community and the implementation of SP categorization, emphasizing the TDP’s dedication to uplifting marginalized communities. He stressed that his party always recognized the hard work of its supporters and ensured they were rewarded with appointed positions.

In conclusion, Chandrababu Naidu noted that while elections for irrigation boards had been concluded, important posts within local bodies, cooperative societies, and trust boards were still up for grabs. He affirmed that the appointments would be based on merit, with individuals being assessed for their contributions and leadership potential before being offered positions.
