Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu issued a direct challenge to YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. Calling on Jagan to attend the upcoming Assembly sessions, Naidu declared that the government was ready to debate any issue on the floor. Taking a dig at the YSRCP’s past campaign slogan “Siddham – Siddham”, he remarked, “You claimed to be ready during the elections—are you still ready now? Step into the Assembly and let’s discuss everything—from development and welfare schemes to the Kodi Katti attack case, the stone-pelting incident, and even the shocking murder of Vivekananda Reddy.”
However, the YSRCP response did not come directly from Jagan. Instead, senior party leader and political affairs in-charge Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy reacted sharply, dismissing Naidu’s remarks. Speaking to the media, Sajjala said Chandrababu’s so-called challenge sounded more like a cry for attention than a serious political stand. He questioned, “Do such challenges really help the people of Andhra Pradesh?”
Sajjala shifted attention to the issues of the state at present, noting that few beneficiaries had availed of assistance under the Talliki Vandanam scheme. He went on to shed light on the woes of farmers facing excessive rains, floods, and continued urea shortage, which he asserted has left a critical situation driving some of them to drastic measures.
Challenging the CM to prioritize real issues, Sajjala said the Assembly should be used to address matters of public interest, not as a stage for political theatrics. Criticizing Naidu’s comments, he added, “If a Chief Minister with three decades of experience says, ‘Come, let’s settle it,’ will people see it or laugh at it?”
He also warned that Naidu’s controversial statements were unnecessarily irritating other leaders, reiterating that what matters was finding solutions to the state’s urgent issues and not playing political one-upmanship.
