Chandrababu Highlights Infrastructure Growth, Seeks Bullet Train and Metro Projects for Andhra Pradesh

Mangalagiri: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday emphasized that roads are vital symbols of development and civilization. Speaking at a state event where Union Minister Nitin Gadkari laid foundation stones and inaugurated ₹5,233 crore worth of national highway projects, Chandrababu praised Gadkari’s leadership, noting that India is now constructing 37 kilometers of highways daily.

Chandrababu lauded Gadkari as a leader who ensures timely completion of every project, recalling his contribution to the Polavaram project and the pioneering Mumbai–Pune PPP road model. He stated that under Gadkari’s tenure, initiatives like Sagarmala and Bharatmala have been launched, positioning India to achieve one of the best road networks globally.

The Chief Minister announced plans for 20 new ports, expansion of world-class logistics hubs, and additional dry ports in Andhra Pradesh. He also requested the construction of a 189-km Outer Ring Road in Amaravati and sought approval for metro projects in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. Highlighting steps toward biofuel production, Chandrababu advocated for a bullet train corridor connecting Amaravati, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru, which he said would benefit around 40 million passengers.
