Focusing his attention on the industrial promotion in the state, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has directed to prepare a 100-day action plan to set up 100 industrial parks in the state in an area of 100 acres each on food purification and acqua sectors.
Conducting a review on proposed industrial parks and ports, he said that full-scale activities should be initiated at Vijayawada Mallavalli Industrial Park, which was neglected by the previous government. He made it clear that the construction of ports should be undertaken as centers of employment opportunities and wealth creation.
Officials from the Industries Department and MSME Department were present. CM Chandrababu directed the officials to prepare appropriate activities for the establishment of mineral based industrial development parks along with food purification, aqua and horticulture sectors.
He said that how many developments have been made in the existing Industrial Development Parks and the possibilities to be done further should be examined. He directed plans for the establishment of area-based industrial parks keeping in mind the backward areas of the state.
The CM explained about the existing industrial development parks and new ports to be established by the officials of the relevant departments through a powerpoint presentation. Maharashtra has the highest number of industrial parks in the country and currently there are 53 industrial parks in the state.
He said that industrialists should be encouraged to set up industrial parks in the parts of the state where there is a need to set them up. He directed to prepare a suitable master plan for the development of integrated ports under the PPP system in the state.
The officials were advised to study the best ports in the country which are managed by private partnership. He said that there is a need to establish more ports in AP which has a long coastline. He said that port hinterlands should be connected through roads and railways.
Chandrababu said that only when integrated ports are built, the export costs will be reduced and employment opportunities will improve. Ministers TG Bharat, Kondapalli Srinivas and other senior officials of the Industries Department attended the review.
