TDP supremo and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu gave a clarion call to the people of Rayalaseema on Saturday that `Quit Jagan… Save Seema’ should become the slogan of the people during the ongoing elections. Addressing people during his `Prajagalam’ tour in Kadapa district, three days after chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s campaign in the district, he asserted that he can only give assurance on the development of the backward Rayalaseema region.
Leave alone, he challenged the chief minister on what he has done for the development of his own constituency Pulivendala, leave alone Rayalaseema. Referring to the mammoth response he has been receiving wherever goes in the Rayalaseema region, he said that there is a clear change in the trend of the people and they are keen on defeating Jagan’s government.
He challenged Jagan in his own district, asking him “Can you tell us what you have done in Kadapa during your five years in office?”. He recalled that though two times foundation stone was laid for the Steel Plant in the district, the construction is confined to slabs. He said that if he was the CM, he would have completed the steel plant by now.
Naidu assured that he will take up the task of converting Rayalaseema into Ratanalasema and asked the people to oust the incompetent and corrupt government. If a steel plant comes to Kadapa, he said, thousands of people will get jobs. He recalled that during his regime he worked hard to bring Kio Motors to Rayalaseema.
He said that if irrigation water is provided in Rayalaseema, there would be tremendous development. Stating that his dream is to bring Polavaram water to Rayalaseema and during his regime only the project completed 72 percent, Chandrababu assured that soon after he returned to power he will complete the project at an earliest.
The TDP chief hailed the sacrifices of several party workers, who are working courageously facing death threats from the ruling party, he remembered how party worker Nandam Subbaiah was killed brutally. TDP will always remember those who contributed for keeping the party flag high in this region, he added.
He said that he has made an alliance with Jana Sena and BJP only to avert division of anti- government votes and ensure defeat of the present repressive regime.
